ValleyVent creates ventilation without drilling holes into rafters

DuPont® and DCI come together to bring home building in the United States to a higher level! “ DCI Products introduces the newest vent product at the IBS Show in Orlando, FL.”, says company President Jack Henderson.

“Our newest, patented and most versatile utility vent product called ‘ValleyVent’ by DCI is used by DuPont® in their new Tyvek™ AtticWrap™ roof system”, states Mr. Henderson. This roof system was developed by DuPont® engineers to form a breathable ‘skin’ around a building’s envelope with the help of other Tyvek™ products. To allow the Tyvek™ AtticWrap™ to ventilate, DuPont® engineers turned to DCI to help develop cross ventilation products to solve the needs of this futuristic building product. It’s all about the future of home construction. The savings in utility costs could be as much as 20%!

ValleyVent by DCI can be used on every new home built in the U.S. to achieve the proper air flow around obstacles such as valleys, skylights, chimneys, hips and other areas preventing mold and moisture build up. ValleyVent raises the plywood about 1/2 ” above the rafter to allow cool, fresh air to enter the otherwise trapped stale air in that rafter space. Once installed, ValleyVent allows air movement for the life of the building since it is sandwiched between the rafter and roof deck.
